Our First Month!

Protégé Performing Arts is now one month old! This has been an exciting month filled with many firsts, a lot of surprises, and most importantly, a ton of DANCING! I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us!

Our very first class at Protégé was a ballet/tumbling class full of 2.5 year olds! I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter or happier group of kiddos to break in our new floors! One of our students Mayah, 2, declared “I can’t do it!” to all dance steps her first week, but after just three classes, she can now follow along! As teachers, we live for these moments! :)

And where do I even start with our awesome, talented and supportive teachers?! We have had classes in every style, from ballet to jazz to hip hop and tap with Miss Holly, Miss Jasmin, Miss Carleigh, Miss Scarlett, Miss Lauren, Miss Miriam, Mr. Tyler, Miss Jessica and Miss Kelly! We also have a great group of kids studying acting with Miss Ginny on Monday nights! In just a few short weeks we have seen a huge improvement in technique and confidence in our wonderful students. We are even thinking about a holiday show… already?!

My right hand, Miss Kathleen swooped in just when things were getting a little too crazy for me to handle on my own. (I must give a shout-out to Anna Graves for coordinating this match made in heaven!) Kathleen has quickly become an expert in guiding our families to the right classes for their children and we all have come to rely on her humor on the daily to ease almost any situation!

Lastly, I need to thank everyone who helped me realize my longtime dream and make this studio a home. My husband, David, who has a never-ending “honey-do” list and meets every need from installing ballet barres to floor boards and beyond. My dad, who helps every weekend and knows how to do everything! Who needs a handyman with these two?! Thanks to EVERYONE who has supported this dream over the years! I’d also like to thank all the parents, who trust us daily to do the best for their children!
